Hello there! It has been a good while since I have uploaded a blog post. I wanted to soak up the last few weeks of summer and spend some time with my family and friends before heading back to school. I am so happy with the way my dorm room turned out and can't wait to share some pictures over on my Instagram! Today I wanted to talk to y'all about how important it is to create a clean, inspiring space for yourself. This does not have to just apply to a dorm room or apartment. It can even include your room at home! Having a space like this is crucial for me when it comes to keeping myself motivated and happy. If I have a cluttered space, I will have a cluttered mind. I personally live best in a space that is warm and cozy, yet feels open and light. This may sound tedious, but lamps are my favorite. A good lamp or two can create an ambiance that can make you feel calm and comfortable. String lights also work great. Another great addition is adding things to your walls such as inspiring canvases and pictures of friends and family. These are inspiring ad comforting for obvious reasons. A saying or two that helps to remind you of who you are and what you stand for work wonderfully. Another good addition are scents. You probably don't want to walk into a room every day after class that smells dull and like last nights dinner. Choose a wall plug or air freshener that makes you feel good. If you are allowed to have candles, I highly recommend those! The light from those also helps create a calm ambiance. Another addition to your space could be plants. I love flowers, but sometimes those are hard to keep alive! Succulents are great because you don't have to water them that much, and they are super cute. Having plants in your space brings a little life to the room and helps you when you feel like a vampire who spends 24/7 studying inside. The final addition to your clean, inspiring space is just that... a CLEAN space. Make your bed every morning. Put your clothes in the closet or the hamper. Keep your desk organized. Vacuum, dust and wipe down surfaces AT LEAST weekly. This will make a world of a difference, I promise.
I hope you all are having a great week!
