Letting Go, & Letting God

Good afternoon! Y'all know I love decor... it's kind of an obsession. Well I have this pillow from one of my favorite stores ever (Kirklands) that says "Let go & Let God". I feel like I hear this saying all the time now, but when I first found the pillow it really made me think. How do you let go and let God? What does that mean? I think about this saying often. Especially in times of stress such as during finals 😅. "Let go"... stop, take it off of your plate, take a breath of fesh air, look at the blue of the sky, or the green of the trees, ground yourself. "Let God"... let Him remove your stress, let Him take the overwhelmed feeling off of your plate. Pray. Give everything to God. Breathe. He's got you now. You have to trust in Him. You have to believe that he is going to help change the way you are feeling. Not like "oh hey there's Courtney she's struggling let me fix it for her" because I believe that everything happens for a reason. But you have to trust that He will guide you and show you the way to get through it. He can't do that for you unless you seek Him first. You can't expect God to be there for you unless you are truly willing in your heart to find him and begin a relationship with him. Let go and let Him guide you. Let go of the plan you had for your life. Let go of the plan you had for the day. God knows better. Every little thing can be turned into a lesson & is a stepping stone on your path through life. That woman who cut you off earlier, did you yell at her and get all worked up? Did it just RUIN your day? If you are trusting in God then it probably didn't. You were probably able to move on. Maybe you prayed for her. Maybe you undersood that she was having a bad day. Now don't think that I never get mad, because trust me I do. And no I don't pray every time someone cuts me off. But when someone hurts my feelings or lashes out at me I turn to God. I choose to see the good in people. I believe everyone has good in their hearts, some people are just lost. So I let go of any anger or sadness about what someone said or did to me and I let God take over. I pray for that person and ask God to guide them to him through me because they are obviously going through something. Long to share the light of the Lord through you. One of my favorite songs right now is "Chain Breaker" by Zach Williams. These lyrics pair perfectly with the idea of letting go, and letting God. I will leave you with this.

If you’ve been walking the same old road for miles and miles If you’ve been hearing the same old voice tell the same old lies If you’re trying to feel the same old holes inside There’s a better life There’s a better life

If you’ve got pain He’s a pain taker If you feel lost He’s a way maker If you need freedom or saving He’s a prison-shaking Savior If you’ve got chains He’s a chain breaker

We’ve all search for the light of day in the dead of night We’ve all found ourselves worn out from the same old fight We’ve all run to things we know just ain’t right And there’s a better life There’s a better life

If you’ve got pain He’s a pain taker If you feel lost He’s a way maker If you need freedom or saving He’s a prison-shaking Savior If you’ve got chains He’s a chain breaker

If you believe it If you receive it If you can feel it Somebody testify

Have a good weekend!
