My Bible Study Experience: "Seamless"

Hello lovelies! Today we are going to be talking about a new Bible Study I recently got. It is called "Seamless: Understanding the Bible as One Complete Story" by Angie Smith. I was introduced to this study by one of Dani Austin's YouTube videos. (Dani is a lifestyle + fashion blogger and you should definitely check her out). I decided to purchase this Bible Study because I have been searching for the right one for some time now, and just hadn't found it yet. I will get back to this in the next section. The version I purchased is the 7-session leader's edition. It is intended to be a six week group study, but I just read it whenever I feel like it. Parts of the book can go along with a video, but you definitely do not have to use it that way.

In the beginning she talks about her experience with group studies and how she felt left out because she did not know as many stories from the Bible as her peers. I feel like this is definitely something a lot of us can relate to. (Yes, we are back at that part about searching for the right study). I have been invited to be a part of a few Bible Study groups, but I always decided on being too intimidated by everyone else's knowledge to go. First of all, how did I know everyone else there wasn't on the same level as me? Second, It took me this long to realize that the entire purpose of a Bible "Study" is to, well, study. What is studying? Learning. We go to Bible studies and meet in groups like this to learn. Try not to be fearful of the knowledge others may have over you. You came to read, learn, and discuss.

There are two things that most excite me about this book: The tone, and the fill in the blank questions. The tone of Angie Smith's writing makes you feel like you are talking to a friend. It is so easy to read and comprehend, which makes me want to continue reading past that days lesson! The questions she asks are so helpful for learning the basic content, as well as thinking about your own life and relating the story to your personal experiences. Questions and prompts range from "What does Satan ask Eve in Genesis 3:1?", to "Write down any thoughts that come to mind, asking the Lord to bless you as you seek Him in these next weeks.", as well as fill in the blank notes. I love the ides of taking notes in this book, and I like that she has it already set up for you. At the end of each lesson, she has a diagram in the margin of what you have learned so far. It looks like notes from history class in high school or something.

As this book takes me from Genesis through Revelation in these next several weeks, I hope to keep you updated on my journey. I hope this study will lead me closer to the Lord and help me gain confidence in my knowledge of the stories of the Bible, so that I may be able to teach others of my learnings.

I hope y'all will give this book a try. You can find it at Books-A-Million, Barnes & Noble, or even on Amazon. What is your Bible Study experience? Do you have a favorite book? Let me know in the comments or send me a message on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook.
